Ex-EastEnder backs heart health campaign

Actress Hannah Waterman is calling on people across the country to wear red for the British Heart Foundation (BHF).

The former EastEnders star, who played Laura Beale in the London-based soap, is backing the charity's National Wear Red Day initiative.

It is hoped the drive to get people wearing a red item of clothing on February 26th 2010 will raise millions of pounds.

So if you're looking at buying a piece of medical jewellery such as a heart disease alert bracelet, why not show your support by getting something in red?

'Heart disease is the UK's biggest killer,' Waterman commented.

'So let's support the nation's heart charity and help them continue their fantastic work.'

Waterman is plugging the campaign by - somewhat ironically - stripping off and hiding behind a well-placed giant red rose.

The actress is of course no stranger to baring all in public, as she's currently appearing in a theatre production of Calendar Girls.
